Frequently Asked Questions
How does the program work?
iMission Institute’s Google Grant Management starter plan includes getting your organization through the application process, setting up the account, and reviewing your organization’s campaign goals. We work on a monthly basis, automatically renewed each month. If you don’t wish to continue using our services, you can cancel any time with 30 days notice.
We already have a Google’s Ad Grant. Can we still use the iMission program?
Yes. Instead of spending the first couple of weeks getting you through the Grant application process, our team can immediately get to work planning and implementing campaigns to reach your goals.
How is the Google Ad Grant different from search marketing?
Google’s Ad Grant gives qualified nonprofits up to $10,000/month to be used to run search ads within Google’s Ads platform. Think of your grant like a monthly credit that you can use only for search ads. There are a specific set of requirements that Ad Grant recipients must follow to keep your account in good order. These requirements are outlined in Google’s Ad Grants Policy Compliance Guide.
Can we use ads for different websites or social media accounts?
Your ads will need to be linked to just one website domain. This domain should be the same one that is approved by Google in your initial application. All your ad landing pages need to be hosted on this same domain.
Can we create more than one campaign?
Yes, you can run several campaigns at the same time with different goals and different landing pages. You could have simultaneous campaigns running for programming, volunteer recruitment, and a fundraising appeal.
How often do I need to reapply for a Google Grant ?
As long as your account stays in compliance with Google’s guidelines, your account need not ever reapply for a grant. Our experienced Marketing team will maintain your account and ensure that your grant account meets all requirements.
What happens if we use more than $10,000 in a month?
Once you’ve used the entire $10,000 in any month, your ads will simply stop showing on Google search. You won’t be penalized or charged at all.
Google rejected our application. Can iMission help?
It’s common for applications for the Google Ads program to be rejected for a number of reasons. If your organization doesn’t meet the eligibility requirements or the Ads account is not correctly configured, your Grant account may be rejected or locked. We make sure that the nonprofits we work with are eligible, and we can help you resolve any issues you may have experienced with an earlier application.
How long does the application process take?
Google typically reviews most applications within 10 business days. If Google requests additional information, the iMission team will work with you to resolve the follow-up. You may also check on the approval status of your application by signing into your Google for Nonprofits account.
Is iMission’s team Google Certified?
Yes. iMission Institute’s staff is Google certified, meaning that our team has taken training and a certification exam showing that we have the Google Ads skills and expertise necessary to optimize your campaigns and help you get results. iMission has been offering Google Ad Grant management services since 2018, serving dozens of nonprofits.

We helped ATECH Training Center to apply for their grant, get set up, and launch targeted campaigns aimed at their different audiences of physically and intellectually disabled people, families, and caregivers. We continue to assure their grant compliance and support their programs with new campaigns. Within 6 months of starting their ad grant, we increased the website’s traffic by over 120%, delivering actionable leads for their paid services.

Case study | NN4Y
National Network For Youth came to us asking for help to untangle an ad account that had been opened years earlier, but had not been operational for some time. Using the Google Ad grant has allowed NN4Y to grow their outreach, find new supporters, and help more youth experiencing homelessness.
